My name is Tess. I am 17. (white privileged cis female, I prefer the gender pronouns she/her) :D

This title is kinda my mantra - embrace imperfection, always have hope.

In a perfect world, I would end my life having been at least one, if not all, of the following things at some point:

- a film director with the unique tone, singular aesthetic and thought provocation of Jane Campion; the prodigious fluidity, assurance and attention to detail of Joe Wright; the visual allure and atmospherical exactness of Sofia Coppola and the explosiveness and fearlessness of Danny Boyle.

- an author with the verdant emotional landscape and prosaic poetics of Ian McEwan; the sparkling imaginative authority and bleak luminescence of Alice Sebold; the outspoken morals and imagery of Oscar Wilde; the industrial sparseness of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s horror prose and the sheer depth of captivation of J.K Rowling. 

- a photographer with the undeniably magical vision of Tim Walker; the hope-tinted everyday escapism of Eleanor Hardwick; the youthful candidness of Francesca Jane Allen and the perfect imperfection of the prodigiously skilled new generation of photographers breaking barriers every minute of every day.

- a journalist that somehow gets to interview everyone from Florence Welch to Libyan rebels, write for everything from Lula to Vanity Fair, and cover Cannes Film Festival, Meadham Kirchoff A/W and everything in between.

- a collage artist with the prodigious talent and otherworldly sublime eye of Sonja Ahlers and more unknown, independent artists than I can name that keep the lifeblood of art and beauty flowing through the earth

- a drummer with the primitivist punk aggression of Meg White or the singular insanity of Keith Moon.

- a pretentious fuck.

As you can see, I’m really coming along on that last one, but the others need some work. This serves as my online scrapbook for trying to jump and reach for the many moons that are my goals. Hopefully I’ll at least land among the stars.
